Garages are Hot in Salt Lake City

When you think of specialized requirements a potential buyer might want certain things like a great room are mentioned, possibly tile flooring or a porch.  Rarely are large garages mentioned in that conversation.  Today there is a growing demand for large garages. Typically home buyers are looking for more space when they view a home.  Often times more home space and less garage space is less desirable than the other way around.  The reason for this is simple.  Homeowners need an area of the house that is less refined.  A place where they can throw a bunch of stuff and it doesn't matter if things are organized and neat.  Homeowners need large garages not only for parking cars but also for the storage of things they cannot part with.  It has become a storage space that helps keep the rest of the house clean.  What good is more finished living space if it is a mess?  A large garage helps organize the home and rid the living spaces of clutter. Keeping a home tidy is often a goal that never gets finished.  It is a constant work-in-progress for many who could use an easy fix.  If your house has a large garage, it will be easier to sell.  If your house has a small garage or none at all, you might want to consider remodeling or building a new garage.
